Leonard C. Liebmann, 98, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 10, 2013. He was born March 7, 1914 in Preble, WI, to the late Leonard Edwin and Bessie (Snyder) Liebmann. Bessie passed away in 1918 and Leonard was then raised by his father and Ella May Liebmann. Len graduated from St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Grade School and St. Norbert High School and St. Norbert College in 1936 with a degree in English and Journalism. On June 1, 1939, Len married the love of his life, Ruth Evelyn Fox at St. Mary’s Church, Fond du Lac.

He worked many years for the family business at Liebmann Meat Packing Company. Len was a founding member of the Ambassador Club of Green Bay, a member of Downtown Green Bay Kiwanis Club, Green Bay Knights of Columbus, and Optimist Club of Sun City, Florida. He enjoyed helping out in the past years with the Catholic Central and Premontre High School athletic teams. In more recent years Len enjoyed working with the young men and coaches of the St. Norbert College athletic teams. Len was very involved with St. Norbert College and was given many service oriented awards and commendations including the Dr. of Law’s Degree. He not only gave much of his time to St. Norbert College, but was a proud alumnus, friend, and donor.

Survivors include his daughters, Ruth Ann (Norman) Haas and Barbara Jean (Richard C.) Kelly; grandchildren, Alicia (Tom) Marth, Eric Haas, Pamela (Art) Gerstner, Bridget (Tom) Perry, and Edward “Ned” (Maggie) Kelly; great-grandchildren, Jessilyn and Alex Marth, Christian and Keaton Haas, Howie and Charlie Gerstner, Cassandra and Stafford Perry, and Connor and Caden Kelly; nieces and nephews, Mary Ellen (Jim) Lesperance-Heim, Anne (Murray) Lesperance-Basten, Michelle (Kevin) Lesperance-Sandquist, Kris (Jim) Koehn-Klode, John (Patty) Koehn, and Kurt Koehn; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; son, Michael; sister, Bessie (Hilary) Lesperance; brother, John P. Liebmann; sister-in-law, Mary (Fred) Koehn; special friend, Florence Hyska; and nephews, Paul and Ed Lesperance.

Family and friends may call Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Old St. Joseph Catholic Church located on the campus of St. Norbert College, 123 Grant St., De Pere, from 9:30am until 11:00am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Saturday, at 11:00am, with Rev. Rowland De Peaux O.Praem. officiating and Bishop Robert Morneau concelebrating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Len’s name for St. Norbert College or you can give to the charity of your choice.
