Wayne Lafrombois

December 9, 1941 — January 6, 2023

Wayne L. LaFrombois, age 81, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Green Bay on December 9, 1941, the son of the late Glendon and Joyce (Burdick) LaFrombois. Wayne graduated from UW Green Bay with a Bachelors in Business Administration in 1976, while maintaining a full time job at Schreiber Foods, from where he retired in 1996. In his younger years, Wayne participated in many sports and excelled as an athlete. Wayne threw a four-hitter for the Card Sharks on July 22, 1957. He continued to play softball in his adult years and especially enjoyed playing golf with his buddies.

Wayne met Jeanne Hill in Sunday School, when Jeanne was in Kindergarten and Wayne was in first grade. They had their first date on Saturday, December 17, 1955 at the Green Bay YMCA. They continued to date until they got married on August 18, 1962 at St. Paul's Methodist Church Green Bay. Wayne joined the Coast Guard in May of 1962, he served on Lake Michigan at the ports of Charlevoix, MI and Michigan City, IN.

Wayne is survived by Jeanne of 60 years, three children: Layne (Melanie) LaFrombois of Denver, CO; Lance (Linda) LaFrombois of Stillwater, MN; and Laura (David) LaDay of Fremont, NE; 10 grandchildren: Lincoln (Jasmin), Leva (Kayin) LaFrombois-President, Leighton and Laila LaFrombois, Nicolas and Mathieu LaFrombois, Jada, Julia, Jonathan and Jase LaDay; great-grandson, Levi LaFrombois, two sisters-in-law, Jean LaFrombois and Jacque (Ken) Steeno he is further survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Glen, and sister, Dianne (Glenn) Peterson.

Friends and family may visit on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Ave from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Allouez First Responders for their quick care, the doctors and nursing staff at St. Vincent ER and ICU, neighbors, and friends for all their care, comfort, and support that was given to Wayne and the family.
