Listen to Obituary

Valerie "Val" A. Hinkfuss, 51, of Bonduel, passed away on February 15, 2026.

She was born on February 15, 1975 in Shawano, Wisconsin. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1993. She worked at Taco Bell as a manager until she found her true calling in health care at Maple Lane, which then led her to her pathway at Theda Care. She was passionate about helping patients and her coworkers, so she learned how to work in every department. Even though she enjoyed it all, her niche was in the lab department. She was a selfless caregiver and would help anyone. Her positivity shone through and through and touched so many lives.

Val was a truly wonderful and beautiful woman, not only in appearance, but in spirit. The kind of beauty she carried could not be captured in a photograph -it was felt in her presence. She had a warmth about her that made people feel safe, valued, and understood. When she walked into a room, she didn’t demand attention, yet somehow she became the heart of it.

Her kindness was effortless and genuine. She listened with intention, cared without condition, and gave without expecting anything in return. Whether you had known her for years or had just met her moments before, she made you feel important. She had a rare gift for seeing people and reminding them of their worth.

To those closest to her, she was a steady source of love and encouragement. She celebrated others’ successes as if they were her own and offered comfort in times of sorrow with gentle words and open arms. Her compassion reached beyond her inner circle; even strangers felt her generosity. A simple conversation with her could brighten someone’s entire day.

The impact she made is lasting and profound. She planted seeds of kindness everywhere she went - in her family, her friendships, her community. Those seeds continue to grow in the way we treat one another, in the patience we show, and in the love we choose to give because she showed us how.

Though she has passed from this world, the light she shared has not dimmed. It lives on in the memories we hold, the lessons she taught us, and the love she poured into so many lives. We are better people for having known her, and her kindness and grace will continue.

In the summers, Val enjoyed taking her children to her Uncle and Aunt's cottage where she spent a lot of time fishing with her son, Jayzon. She also enjoyed spending quality time being goofy with her daughter, Cheyenne. She just loved being around her family in general, especially at larger family gatherings. She was known for her delicious cookies and her beautiful laughter. On her days off, Val relaxed with her cats, Rocky and Olli.

Valerie is survived by her loving children, Cheyenne and Jayzon Hinkfuss; her cousins: Dan (Emily) William Hinkfuss and their children: Evan (Karina), Deacon and Grant, Kathy Hinkfuss and her son: Jayce (Lauren), Lori (Wendell)Waukau and their children: Joan (Kat), Anta and Wendell Jr. (Cayley) and Akina Hinkfuss; Uncle Dan (Enrite) Hinkfuss; and further relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Hinkfuss; grandmother, Emma Hinkfuss; cousins, Josephine Joe and Christopher Hinkfuss; uncle, William Hinkfuss; and aunt, Rosemary Hinkfuss.

Family is requesting a Celebration of Life to be planned in the near future. Please check back this summer for an update.
