Thomas “Tom” Lloyd Zieske passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Lawrence, WI on October 26, 2026, at the age of 75.
Tom was born on January 5, 1951, and grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota. He attended Stillwater Senior High where he was a star athlete and met the love of his life, Becky Crever. After graduation, he went to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he graduated in 1973. Shortly thereafter, he married Becky on June 16,1973. Tom went on to serve his country in the United States Army as a member of the Signal Corps, stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Following his military service, they moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where Tom began a long career with Procter & Gamble. Over the course of his career, he held various engineering positions, with the final six years of his career spent in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Tom had a lifelong sense of adventure and curiosity. During the summers, he enjoyed traveling with his family to visit national parks throughout the United States, creating memories that would last a lifetime. For the final 30 years of his life, downhill skiing became one of his greatest passions. Each year, he looked forward to an annual ski trip to explore different resorts throughout the Rocky Mountains as well as frequenting ski hills in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
After Becky’s passing in 2020, Tom continued to embrace life and find new adventures. He especially enjoyed riding the ATV trails of northern Wisconsin, spending time on his jet ski, and attending rock concerts.
No matter where Tom lived, he took great pride in his home and yard. He was well known among family, friends, and neighbors for likely having the nicest lawn in the county. Tom also followed politics passionately and rarely lacked an opinion on the issues of the day.
Above all else, Tom loved his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than seeing his grandchildren happy. He treasured his time with them and took tremendous pride in watching them grow.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rebecca (Becky) Zieske, his father, Lloyd Zieske, and his mother, Mary Zieske.
He is survived by his son, Brock Zieske; his grandchildren, Annalise, Lily, Jack, and their mother, Stacy Zieske; his sister, Theresa Polta; and his brothers, Larry Zieske (Carol) and Lynn Zieske (Sara), and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Tom’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. His family will gather privately at a later date to remember him, celebrate his life, and share the many memories they have of a father, grandfather, brother, and friend who lived life on his own terms.
Tom lived with strong convictions, an adventurous spirit, and a deep love for his family. Whether he was carving turns down a mountain, riding the trails of northern Wisconsin, tending to a perfectly manicured lawn, or simply watching his grandchildren enjoy life, Tom found happiness in doing the things he loved with the people who mattered most. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
