Sue Ann Mackin, age 70, of Green Bay, died July 29, 2026 after battling a long term illness surrounded by her family. She was born on February 10, 1956 to James and Janice Detienne.
Sue was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and aunt. Sue loved to go camping up in the Three Lakes area and adored baking Christmas cookies with her grandchildren. She had 2 dogs, Chewy and Bella. Sue was loved dearly. Her pride and joys were her grandchildren. Sue enjoyed doing things with her grandchildren and made sure she was able to attend their special events.
Sue is survived my her loving husband, Rory Owen Mackin and her two children, Nicole (Todd) Gerbers and Cory (Leah) Mackin. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren; her mother, Janice Detienne; her siblings: Margaret Drake; Rick Detienne (Special friend Gloria), Kathy Tyler, Lynn Detienne and Barbara Hostak; Sue is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Sue was preceded in death by her father, James Detienne; her maternal grandparents, Melvin and Lillian DeKeuster; paternal grandparents, Jack and Anna Detienne; her brother, John Detienne; her cousin, Cindy (nee DeKeuster) Heim; and her Godchild, Stephanie Detienne. Sue will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Oncology Team at St. Vincent Hospital, Unity Hospice and Newcomer Funeral Home for all of their incredible care, compassion, and guidance.
Family and friends will have the opportunity to gather for Visitation on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay, WI 54301). A Memorial Service to honor Sue will follow immediately after at 12:00 PM NOON. Sue will be laid to rest at Fort Howard Memorial Park.
