Steven Michael Boguski, 70, of De Pere, passed away following a long illness on November 22, 2025 at St Vincent Hospital. He fought until the very end. He was born in Green Bay on February 26, 1955 to Edward and Judith (Christopherson) Boguski.
Steve was proud to work in health care his entire career. He loved to help others. He started his career at St. Vincent's Hospital in the Physical Therapy department and worked there for 18 years. After a few other jobs, including Bel-Regional Home Medical, he worked at GT Mobility until his retirement.
Steve met his future wife, Cathy Cavil when they were just 14 and 15 years old at a YWCA dance. They were inseparable ever since. On June 8, 1974, Steve married the love of his life, Cathy, at St. Mary of the Angel's Church in Green Bay. Steve and Cathy were blessed with their daughter, Becky, who was the apple of Steve's eye. They just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary, this year.
Steve loved the outdoors and he was an avid deer hunter. He passed away on his favorite day of the year, opening day of deer season. He also loved fishing with his family and friends on Shawano Lake and off the piers in Two Rivers. Steve enjoyed being a softball coach for many years. He loved coaching his daughter, Becky and many other teams that he played on with his friends. He was a pool fanatic and played in many leagues through the years. Steve had a deep love and respect for Winchester firearms, and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his buddies. He had many truly wonderful friends throughout the world that he connected with through his Winchester Group on Facebook. He enjoyed playing cards, painting, leather work, and tinkering on his sports cars. Steve had a goofy and dry sense of humor and had a knack for telling a good story…at length! Now music, that is a whole other story. Steve loved all sorts of music and had many obscure favorites. He was always up for music trivia and would challenge anyone (and no using Google). Many hours were spent trying to stump Steve, but we never could, except maybe Kelly in Valet.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Boguski; his daughter, Becky (Tom) Devine; siblings: Mark Boguski, Diane (Larry) De Moulin, Lisa (James) Williams-Tuttle, Roberta (Paul) DeBaker; his aunt, Bev Barlament; Steve is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones, including his best friend, Tim. Steve will also be dearly missed by his beloved kitty, Coopurrr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Judy Boguski; his brother, Chris Boguski; his grandparents, Ed and Ann Boguski; his grandparents, Clarence and Ione Christopherson; his great-grandpa, Papa Archie Basche and a very special lady, his great-grandma, Viola Basche; Jim Christopherson, and Don Barlament; his in-laws, Eugene Williams, Robert and Anne Cavil, Robert Cavil Jr., Richard Cavil, Marion Cavil, and Del Alberts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made towards Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary.
Steve's family would like to express their gratitude for all the love and support from his siblings, and to his best friend, Tim for all of the support, friendship, and memories through the years. A special thank you to the staff at St. Vincent's Wound Center; Lori H., Kristin, Paula, and Dr. Buechel on the 8th floor; and Jen at Unity Hospice for all of their amazing care and compassion.
