Santos Mejia, a beloved husband, father, and brother, departed this world peacefully on December 29, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by his loving family at Aurora BayCare Hospital in Green Bay. Born on February 16, 1958, in Carrisillo Cuquio, Jalisco, Mexico, he was the cherished son of the late Roberto and Severiana (Vargas) Mejia.
At the tender age of 13, Santos and his family journeyed to the United States, finding their home in California. There, he embraced various roles across hospitality and landscaping, all while nurturing his lifelong passion for automobiles. His dedication and talent in the automotive realm blossomed, particularly in the artistry of custom car painting, allowing him to forge a successful career while delighting customers with his unique creations.
In the mid-1990s, destiny graced Santos when he was introduced to Patricia “Patti” Simac, the love of his life, by his brother Chebio. They wed on September 9, 2008, embarking on a remarkable journey filled with love and adventure over the span of 17 wonderful years. Together, they relished in travels, day road trips, and the joy of shared interests, including their favorite television series, *Gilmore Girls*. Their home was a sanctuary of love, nurturing a passion for gardening and cooking, culminating in the greatest joy of their lives—welcoming twins Luke and Emmy in 2013.
Santos had a zest for life, epitomized by his affection for motorcycle rides—an enthusiastic Harley devotee. He cultivated a reputation for his exceptional pepper plants, which he has lovingly entrusted to Patti. His hobbies included fishing and cooking, with barbecued carne asada being a highlight of family gatherings, where laughter and love thrived.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia; his cherished children, Luke and Emmy Mejia; and his devoted siblings: Roberto Mejia, Enedina Sosa, Guadalupe “Lupe” Mejia, Ignacio “Nacho” Mejia, Hector Mejia, Eva Mejia, and Fernando (Isela Serna) Mejia. He is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever remember his kindness and warmth. Santos was preceded in death by two brothers, Jose Luis Mejia and Eusebio “Chebio” Mejia.
A visitation to honor Santos’s life will be held at Newcomer Chapel, located at 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1 to 3 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3 PM.
The Mejia family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Aurora BayCare Hospital, particularly the compassionate ICU staff, for their unwavering support and care during this difficult time. Santos Mejia’s spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire love and warmth in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
