Sandra Lee "Sandy" Defrance

July 24, 1947 — February 29, 2024

Sandra Lee "Sandy" DeFrance, age 76, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Bellin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 24, 1947 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Roy and Dorothy (Wiese) Margraf and was a graduate of Green Bay West High School.

Sandra was united in marriage to John "Jack" DeFrance on June 10, 1967 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They shared 52 loving years of marriage before Jack preceded her in death, December 31, 2019. She was a devout Catholic and maintained memberships at several parishes in the Green Bay area, most recently at St. John the Baptist, through her residence at New Perspective Senior Community.

Sandra had a sparkling personality and it was on full display with her clothing and jewelry that had her signature bling. She loved to dance whenever the opportunity arose. Sandy was a care giver at heart. This was evident in her interactions each day at her beloved new home at New Perspective Senior Community. She made a conscious effort to show her love to the staff and residents and made each one feel special. Sandy thrived at New Perspective and was involved in every activity and event, from shopping trips to church services and happy hours. Her beloved canine companion, Mia, helped her in her daily routine of making everyone feel loved and welcome. Her family was her pride and joy and where her giving heart was most fulfilled. Sandy's grandchildren and great-grandson were the apples of her eye!

Sandra is survived by her 2 children: Lisa (fiancé, Brian Bolssen) Noskowiak of Green Bay and David (Holly) DeFrance of Kentucky; 6 grandchildren: Kayla (fiancé, Blaise Maris), Alyssa (fiancé, Nathan Wicker), Sierra and Tanner Noskowiak, Austin (Andrea) DeFrance (expecting a baby in September) and Jordyn (Nick) Olsen; a great-grandson, Bailey Olsen; brother, Gerry (Darlene) Margraf. She is further survived by a brother-in-law, Chuck (Jane) DeFrance, lifelong friend, Sheri Gauthier, her dog, Mia, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack, her sisters, Carol (Bob) Keller and Jackie (Noel) Hansen and special friend, Angelo Cali.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 9 to 11 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM.

Sandy's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents at New Perspective Senior Community and to Bellin Hospital and Unity Hospice for their friendship, incredible care and compassion.
