Ruth (Hischke) Taylor Wik, age 96, passed away on April 10, 2026.
Ruth was born on December 5, 1929, to Fred and Martha (Struck) Hischke. She graduated from Luther High School in Milwaukee and attended Concordia College in River Forest, Illinois and University of California, San Francisco. She taught primary grades at Trinity Lutheran School in Potter, Wisconsin and St. John Lutheran School in Suring, Wisconsin. She was also formerly employed as a Clerk/Treasurer for the Village of Suring, Wisconsin and by the Del Paso Country Club and the Robla School District in Sacramento, California. Ruth served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
She is survived by her daughters, Tamara Taylor Rembold of Neenah and Sandra (Richard) Sims of Green Bay; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, Paul (the late Lynn) Hischke.
She was preceded in death by her former husbands, Wilber G. Taylor and Orlyn L. Wik; her sisters: Margaret (Raymond) Golding; Irmgard (Al) Becher and Ramona (Fred) Pfefferkorn; her brothers: Karl (Vila) Hischke, Martin (Elenore) Hischke, Rev. Waldemar (Anita) Hischke and Rev. Roland (Helen) Hischke.
Ruth was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Green Bay, which is where a Funeral Service will be held at on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 11 AM. There will be a time for friends and family to pay respects and visit starting at 9 AM at the church and will end when the service begins.
