Ruth A. Melchert, age 92, of Oneida, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Anna John Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 22, 1933 to the late Hyson John Sr. and Clara (Cornelius) Voster.
Ruth truly embraced her Oneida heritage and immersed herself in the culture, attending basket making and painting classes. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and cheering on the Green Bay Packers with her beloved canine companion, Pepper. Her family remembers her as a truly "awesome mom." Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and especially loved being a grandma, great-grandma and great-great grandma. She was happiest when she was hosting family and friends in her home, serving them coffee and food.
Ruth is survived by her children: Patsy Beaulieu, Harvey (Sue) Melchert Jr., Kitty (Mark) Blaser, Bonnie (Kevin) Tassoul, Tony Melchert, Adam (Karen) Melchert and Alvin (Amanda) Melchert; a son-in-law, Edgar Blackbull Sr.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her in-laws, Carol Melchert and Pat Melchert, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by 5 children: Donald (Effie) Melchert, Terry Melchert, Rosa Blackbull, Brenda Melchert and Dan Melchert; 3 grandchildren: Brian Beaulieu, Terrance Metoxen and Katherine Blackthunder-Melchert.
Visitation will be held at Oneida Assembly of God Church (N7321 Olson Rd., Oneida, WI), Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 10 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM. Burial will be in Oneida Assembly of God Cemetery.
