Richard "Rick" Fleury

Richard W. Fleury, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home on July 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, devotion, and an enduring love of country.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Alfred and Madelyn Fleury, Richard was one of four children. Throughout his life, first most, he was a follower of Christ, but also, he carried with him the values of duty, hard work, and patriotism. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years, answering his nation's call with honor and commitment. His military service remained a defining part of his identity, reflected in his deep appreciation for American history and his passion for collecting military memorabilia.

Together, Richard and his wife proudly placed American flags at every military grave at the Spencer Lake Cemetery, honoring those who served before him. Following his military service, Richard dedicated 35 years to Fort Howard, where he earned a reputation for reliability, integrity, and a strong work ethic.

At the heart of Richard's life was his beloved wife, Delight, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Their relationship was built on love, loyalty, and companionship. Among their most treasured memories were the countless days spent at their summer cottage on Spencer Lake, where they enjoyed peaceful moments together and created a lifetime of cherished memories.

Richard also found great joy in restoring and admiring classic cars, a hobby that reflected both his appreciation for craftsmanship and his love of history.

He is survived by his wife, Dee, his brother, Alfred Fleury, and sister-in-law, Patricia Fleury. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Madelyn Fleury, and his sisters, Marjorie Hanson and Irene Borkenhagen.

Richard will be remembered for his devoted faith, as a proud patriot, devoted husband, and kind-hearted man who cherished history, family, and the freedoms he served to protect. His life stands as a quiet testament to duty, love, and the enduring spirit of America.

Whether remembered by the waters of Spencer Lake, among the classic cars he admired, or through the many acts of kindness he shared, Richard's presence will remain a treasured part of the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Funeral services will be held at Living Hope Church, 1840 W. Mason St., Green Bay, Wisconsin on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 11 AM. A time for family and friends to pay respects and visit will begin at 9 AM until the time of the service. Military honors will follow the funeral service. Interment will take place privately at Spencer Lake Cemetery.
