Richard (Dick) Morris passed away peacefully at Violet Meadows Assisted Living Facility on August 13, 2025, in DePere, WI at the age of 80.
Richard is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Marie Morris of Farmington, MN, his daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Kurt Raddant of DePere, WI, his grandchildren, Samantha and Aaron Crites of Granbury, TX, Kristi and Phillip Zempel of Rosemount, MN; Tommy Morris of Farmington, MN; Jess Raddant of Minneapolis, MN; great-grandchildren Clayton and Theodore Zempel of Rosemount, MN.
Richard is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Marcia and Mark Whittier of Georgetown, TX; niece Michelle and Evan Blackard of Flagstaff, AZ; nephew Mitchell Whittier and Gena Esposito of Albuquerque, NM and their children Miles and Riley; sister-in-law and brother-in-law James and Betty Peterson of International Falls, MN.
He is preceded in death by his wife Nancy; parents Wayne and Elsa (Moore) Morris; granddaughter Megan Morris; Nancy's parents and Nancy's other siblings and spouses.
Richard was born on January 10, 1945 in Virginia, MN to Wayne and Elsa. He graduated from Littlefork High School (MN) in 1963. He married Nancy Borden on August 21, 1965. They lived in International Falls, MN where Richard worked at the Boise Cascade paper mill. In 1985 they relocated to Iron Mountain, MI where Richard was a Plant Operator at Quinnesec paper mill. After his first retirement in 2006 they moved to DePere, WI where Richard worked part-time at the Scheuring Mobil Mart.
After Nancy passed away in 2009, he retired for a second time to chauffeur his granddaughter Jess to and from daycare and then school. He also spent time as a volunteer driver for Curative Connections in Green Bay, which he enjoyed very much. When Jess started driving, he started working at Kwik Trip. He retired for the final time in December 2024. He had many Kwik Trip co-workers who missed him and visited him at Violet Meadows.
Richard enjoyed golfing, watching baseball, playing cards and even watching Minnesota Vikings football. Richard attended Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Green Bay, where he was baptized in 2007.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in International Falls, MN. The family requests that any gifts or memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center at Aurora Hospital in Green Bay, WI.
The family would like to thank the Aurora staff, Aurora Hospice staff and the amazing staff at Violet Meadows. They took great care of Richard during his stay there. Thank you also to his Kwik Trip friends that visited.
