Richard "Dick" Arthur LeMay, 83, of Green Bay, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026. He was born February 5, 1943 in Oconto, son of the late Arthur and Carol (Funk) LeMay. Richard was a 1961 graduate of Oconto High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1964 until 1968. Upon his return from service, he met and married Carol (Filz) LeMay and eventually took over LeMay Plumbing and Heating from his father, Art. They ran the family business from 1977 until 1989. They both then moved to Green Bay, WI, and Richard worked in the same field until his eventual retirement as a building inspector for Oneida Nation in 2007.
Richard was a very proud Navy Veteran who survived a tragic boat fire aboard the USS Oriskany Aircraft Carrier on October 26, 1966, in which he lost several friends and shipmates.
He was also a proud grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 11 and very active in their lives. Dick and Rosemary loved to travel during the 23 years they spent together.
Survivors include his special friend, Rosemary Metzler (Green Bay, formerly of Oconto); his sons, David (Sara) LeMay (Wausaukee) and Brian LeMay (Green Bay); daughter, Sarah LeMay (Green Bay) and sisters, Sharon (Bob) Roulette (Howard, WI) and Julie Dorsey (Seattle). He is further survived by his grandchildren: Justin, Lauren, Kash, Mavrik, Savanah, Pariss, Amara and Taryn and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Carol LeMay; his son, Michael Richard LeMay; sisters, Clarice Bolitho and Carolyn LeMay; a brother, Louis and the mother of Richard's children, Carol (Filz) LeMay.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 9 to 11 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM with full military honors. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to his friend and companion, Rosemary Metzler, for all her love and support over the years and helping with his care and support the past couple of years while Richard struggled with his health.
