Ralph Oscar Henne, known to friends and family as "Junior", passed away, Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the age of 93 years old, surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Oconto Falls, Ralph was born to Oscar and Ruth (nee Como) Henne. Born as Oscar Ralph Henne on May 18, 1929, in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, he later legally changed his name to Ralph Oscar Henne. Junior served in the United States Navy from June 26, 1946 and was honorably discharged on June 28th 1949. Upon his return stateside, Junior started working at Scott Paper Mill on September 13, 1949.
He married Marion Catherine Donlevy on April 29, 1950 in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. They had seven children together. Junior worked at Scott Paper Mill for over 40 years. He could be seen walking to and from work with his friend Fritz Jaeger, both carrying their lunch pails down the street to the Mill. He proudly worked there until his retirement on October 1, 1989. Ralph was a very loved husband, father, brother, friend, and uncle. He has hosted Saturday get togethers for decades and was known to quickly offer a drink and a snack. He loved making his famous popcorn. One could often find Junior debating politics, religion, and well, actually just about anything was fair game for a debate. He was proud of his French-Canadian heritage and family will fondly remember his "French feistiness." He was an avid Packer fan, and the folks knew not to bother him during the game! He loved tinkering and decorating. He liked to take photos and often of scenery. While he was a creature of habit when it came to his schedule, he regularly liked to change things up and "reorganize" things around the house to his wife's dismay. He loved gardening, shopping every Friday, traveling, cutting his grass, taking a ride, Friday fish fries, reading the newspaper, and "getting a rise" out of friends and family-you know, to start a debate!
Preceding Ralph in death were his parents; his wife of nearly 67 years, Marion; his son, Monte Henne; a daughter-in-law, Karen Henne; brothers: Art (Marie) Henne, Duane (Sherrie) Henne, and Clinton (Betty) Henne; and sisters, Violet Bohn and Bernice Wild; brothers-in-law: Giles (Bernice) Donlevy, Jack (Phyllis) Donlevy and Allie (Madeline) Donlevy, Jerry Munson, Ronald "Butch" Rouer; and sister-in-law, Carol Bushmaker.
Surviving are his children: Jay Henne, Kim (Linda) Henne, Dawn (Danny) Coppens, Dale (Donna) Henne, Tami (Donald) Koebach, Clint (Kathy) Henne; many special grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Loretta Munson and Jean Rouer. Further survived by brothers-in-law, Dick (Kathy) Donlevy and Vinnie Bushmaker, nieces and nephews.
