Pinky Ann Betts, age 80, of Green Bay, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2026 at St. Vincent Hospital. Pinky embarked on her final journey, surrounded by the love of her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Pinky was born Ann Elizabeth Beimborn, January 5, 1946 in Green Bay, WI, daughter of the late Arnold and Arleen (Allen) Beimborn. She was a proud graduate of St. Joseph Academy. She continued her education in nursing, earning her LPN and lending her caring services to local nursing homes. Later, she went on to earn her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Nursing. Her career spanned over three decades, retiring as a Supervisor with Brown County Human Services Department.
Pinky was a talented cross stitch and knitting wiz. She was a long standing member of the Embroidery Guild of America, and her patterns are used to this day by many cross stitch companies. Pinky loved to travel and she toured the world, starting with her very first trip through Europe after high school graduation. She met the love of her life, Tony Garcia, in 2023 on a cruise and they continued their travel adventures together, visiting over a dozen countries. One of the last places Pinky visited was St. Kitts, which she fell in love with and which will be her final resting place.
Pinky is survived by her partner, Tony Garcia; her brother, John (Lorrie) Beimborn; niece, Heidi (Harry) Benjamin and their daughter, Amelia and her dearest friend, Jeannie Kozar. She is further survived by a brother, Paul Beimborn and family.
A celebration of Pinky's life will be held at Newcomer Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Wednesday, October 14, 2026 from 5 to 7 PM. A memorial service and sharing of memories will follow at 7 PM. Pinky's wish for her celebration of life was to have the presence of the Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard, an honor she earned with her many dedicated years to the profession. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial directed to a cancer charity of your choice, in Pinky's honor.
