Penelope Lee Morden, age 74, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Penelope was born on April 22, 1951, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Dr. Thomas Robert Morden and Mary Ann Morden (Pohlman). She grew up surrounded by her five brothers—Thomas, Robert, Theodore, James, and David—forming close family bonds that stayed with her throughout her life.

Penelope graduated from Bay View High School and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. Penelope proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving her country before returning to civilian life and completing her education at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Art was not just her passion, but her life’s work. Penelope was a phenomenal and award-winning doll artist, as well as an accomplished designer, painter, and sculptor. She enjoyed a successful interior design and artistic career spanning more than 40 years, during which her creativity touched many. Her work, talent, and vision earned her widespread admiration and respect. She traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States, drawing inspiration from the people, cultures, and landscapes she encountered.

Beyond her art, Penelope was deeply passionate about politics and current events, always engaging thoughtfully and energetically with the world around her. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael Garvey, and Christopher (Keelin) Opper, along with her three grandchildren and extended family. She was loved by many for her creativity, intellect, and passion for life.

A celebration of Penelope’s life will be held in the spring of 2026, with details to be announced at a later date.
Penelope will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her
