Patrick J. Atkinson

Patrick J. Atkinson died December 23, 2023, in his Green Bay home. Patrick was born March 19, 1952, to Thomas G. and Patricia A. "Patsy" (Liebergen) Atkinson.

Patrick "Wiz" is survived by his brother, Honorable William M. (Roberta) Atkinson; sisters: Mary Robin (John) Cavil and Anne M. Atkinson; and nephews and nieces: Carol Ann (Chad) O'Leary, Thomas (Tanya) Atkinson III, William (Valerie) Atkinson, Matthew (Jenna) Atkinson, Evelyn (Kyle) Ness, Laura (Ryan) Heider, Megan (Adam) Parker, Michael Atkinson Jr., Katie Dellamater and Andrew Dellamater.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas G. and Patricia A. Atkinson; and brothers: Thomas G. (Mary) Atkinson Jr. and Michael R. Atkinson.

Patrick graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1970. He enlisted into Wisconsin National Guard after high school. He graduated from NWTC and St. Norbert College with a degree in Accounting. He worked at St. Vincent Hospital and Fort James during his career.

Patrick enjoyed spending time at the Suamico family cottage boating and swimming as well as his annual Lake Michigan Polar Plunges. Patrick never forgot a birthday or anniversary. He enjoyed sending greeting cards for all occasions, including St. Patrick's Day and Thanksgiving. Patrick maintained lifelong friendships and relished conversation time spent with his nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Friends may visit at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 3370 Deerfield Ln W, Suamico, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Demosthenes Olaso officiating.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank all of Patrick's friends, including Rick Nelson, Gary and Terri Mancoske and Pat Huth.
