Pamela Rae (Metzler) Gallagher, 54, of De Pere, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 3, 1971 to Martin Sr. and Gladys (Cherney) Metzler in Green Bay, WI and is the 8th of their 10 children. She is survived by her children, Maggie, Delaney, Kinsey and Grady; her parents, and siblings: Marty (Karen) Metzler Jr., Sam (Janice) Metzler, Diane (Gary) Stone, Cheryl (Ron) Metzler-Linzmeier, Bart (Laura) Metzler, Tina Metzler, Jeff (Trina) Metzler, Randy (Shannon) Metzler, and Holly Metzler. Pam is further survived by 22 nieces/nephews, 6 great nieces/nephews and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank Jr. and Veronica Cherney and Martin and Isabel Metzler.
Pam attended St. Matthew Catholic School and graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1989. She went on to college at UW-Eau Claire and later graduated from UW-Green Bay. After college, Pam began a successful sales career. Her professional success came from her sincere desire to connect with people and her uplifting, magnetic personality. Pam’s most favorite sales role was hosting Lia Sophia jewelry home parties. It allowed her to grow a wide network of friends and constantly make new connections. Pam loved to be a unifier of people and she always loved to be at a party.
Pam had many deep and loving relationships from all stages of her life. She was equally committed to tending to long standing friendships and cultivating new ones. Her friends were instrumental in her beating cancer three times by providing care, accompanying her to cancer treatments and being by her side through all the ups and downs. Pam loved meaningful conversations and big laughs with friends and strangers alike.
By far the most important part of Pam’s life was her children: Maggie, Delaney, Kinsey, and Grady. They were her greatest source of pride, and the reason she battled her cancer diagnoses so courageously. She loved watching them grow, succeed and find their way through the world. She loved attending their events and never wanted to miss even the smallest moments. She encouraged them to set high goals for themselves because of her strong belief in them and their potential. She instilled in her children an incredible work ethic, friendliness toward others, the ability to have fun, and she helped cultivate the strong bond her kids have with one another and God.
Pam’s catholic faith was unwavering. She was always willing to say a prayer for others and receive prayer. When she was a teenager, she was involved with TEC Retreats (Teens Encounter Christ) and her involvement was pivotal to how Pam would forever approach life. After that experience, she began to openly express her love of God and her love for the important people in her life. Pam was always saying “I love you” and giving hugs, and always made time to go to church.
Pam loved to travel and visited all 50 states and many countries. After Pam’s diagnosis she took countless trips with her dear friends as far away as Alaska and Hawaii, and sibling trips to Colorado, Montana, Minnesota, North Carolina and Australia to celebrate her life with them. Pam truly made every trip an adventure!
Pam lived a full, abundant life for 54 years. The loss of Pam is heartbreaking and she will be greatly missed because of how she made people feel in her presence. Her enthusiasm for life and people was unmatched. All who knew her will miss her ability to see the bright side, even on the darkest days. We will miss her beautiful smile, contagious laugh and her willingness to always say yes. We are all undoubtedly better people because Pam was in our lives. Without question, the world was a better place with Pam in it and will never be the same without her.
