Norma E. Fenner

April 2, 1932 — May 22, 2022

Norma Edith Fenner (Oppedahl), 90, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 22 at 7:20 a.m. surrounded by loved ones. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin A. Oppedahl and Grace M. (Matson) Oppedahl, and her sister, Betty (Oppedahl) Olsen. She is survived by her loving husband Rev. Donald D. Fenner; three children Bruce (Christine) Fenner, Caroline (Steve) Polster, Kristine (Kent) Ingram; five grandchildren, Sarah (René) Valencia, Rachel (Peder) Blomker, Jeffrey Ingram, Erin Fenner, and Rebekah Ingram; and one great-grandchild Jasnen Valencia.
Norma was born April 2, 1932, in Mason City, Iowa. She graduated high school in Rochester, MN and attended North Central College in Naperville, IL, where she met her soul mate and lifelong partner, Don. They married Aug. 22, 1952, in Rochester, MN and spent nearly 70 years together, serving in ministry with the United Methodist Church in communities around Wisconsin including Horicon-Juneau, Madison, Racine, Green Bay, Waukesha, and Janesville. In retirement, Norma and Don lived in Fish Creek, Door County for 25 years, where she enjoyed being involved in the community.
She will be remembered as a generous hostess and for the beautiful creations she crafted and shared with others, ranging from wedding dresses to dishcloths to homemade lefse and sweet breads. As an avid traveler, Norma especially enjoyed visiting Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, and Austria, and the many road trips within the United States with her family. Norma treasured the natural beauty of the outdoors observing birds, caring for flowers, and spending time in gardens. Norma was a loving and committed mother and grandmother. She will be missed by so many, and always remembered in our hearts.
A private memorial service will take place later this summer.
Memorials may be directed to Wisconsin United Methodist Lake Lucerne Camp and Retreat Center: W6460 Cty Rd YY Neshkoro, 54960
