Nancy Carol (Lucas) Wendt, 93, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 17, 1933, to Walter and Myrtle (Rice) Lucas. Nancy was united in marriage to Jerald “Jerry” Wendt, who preceded her in death.
Nancy was a devoted stay-at-home mother whose greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved unconditionally and created a home where everyone felt welcome, cared for, and well fed. There was always plenty to eat, and the kids and grandkids could always count on candy and cookies waiting for them.
She cherished family time, especially camping trips, gatherings, playing cards, especially her favorite game 31 and summers spent at the cottage on White Potato Lake surrounded by those she loved most. Nancy had a special gift for making everyone feel at home.
Nancy was also passionate about ceramics. She loved creating beautiful pieces, teaching others, and sharing her knowledge through ceramics classes. It brought her joy to help others learn and create.
She is survived by her children: Larry (Gail) Wendt; Jay (Debbie) Wendt; Stacey (Gary) VanLanen; Steve (Cathy) Wendt; and Bonnie Vincent (widow of Steve Vincent)
She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to many, including Brooklyn (Luke) Whipp and sons, Julian and Morgan; Dustin (Katie) Wendt and daughters Evelyn and Anisten; Chelsea (Jon) Pederson and daughters, Margot and Etta; Ciara VanLanen, Janelle VanLanen (Freeman); Kasey VanLanen; Curtis Wendt and children Karl and Kellianna; Allison (Marcus)Phillips; April Anderson; Jaime (Dave) Harris and children, Savannah (Zay) and Ryker; Russell Aude and daughter Eva; Sadie Aude (Joe ) and children, Cameron and Macie.
In addition to her husband, Jerry, she was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, including Howard Lucas, Shirley Knaus, June Amore, Evelyn Coopman, and Versa Hebert.
A funeral service for Nancy will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 3 PM at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S Madison St, Green Bay, WI 54301. A time for family and friends to pay respect and visit will begin at 2 PM at the church.
Nancy’s legacy is one of unconditional love, warmth, and deep devotion to her family. She made everyone feel at home and will be remembered for the love she gave so freely.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Woodside Care Team and Unity Hospice for their compassionate, care and support.
Mom, we will miss you deeply and love you always. Your unconditional love and the warmth you gave so freely will live on in all of us.
