Mike had an extensive and diverse work history. After high school Mike started out working as a painter and saved money as he worked towards starting a plant store called “Green Thoughts” located on Cherry St. After much success, Michael moved his store to the Port Plaza Mall and renamed his business “Tropical Environments” which also sold pets. After exhausting himself in the retail industry, Mike decided to purchase a business in Shawano called “Shady Putt” which had a miniature golf course, a small arcade and a snack shop. After that he drove a semi for Tropical Gardens selling plants across the country. Mike decided to change pace and work locally to spend time with his daughter; rekindled his painting years, and started working as a contractor. Mike was successful as a contractor, he owned a company called R.E.D. (Real Estate and Development) which he owned and operated until his retirement. Mike had a passion and gift for creating and remodeling homes, and built his own house on the east side of Green Bay. Nearing his retirement years, Mike worked at Bay Shipbuilding as welder and at Window World installing windows while he continued to work side jobs for his business.
Mike was a familiar face at Barley’s Pub and Grill, where he could be seen watching the Packers or the Brewers games and having drinks with his best pal Sergio Mendoza and many longtime friends. Mike had a vast selection of different hobbies also - including - fishing, jet skiing, sitting in the hot tub, golf, camping, pool and of course motorcycling with his buddies.
