Gary "Dusty" Rhoades

Gary Michael "Dusty" Rhoades, 73, of Little Suamico, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family and friends after a valiant 20 year battle with cancer on April 23, 2026 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on January 12, 1953 to Robert and Juanita (Sparks) Rhoades in Green Bay, WI.

Dusty was known for his big heart and the love he had for his family and countless friends. He was an avid hunter, competitive trap shooter, motorcycle enthusiast, and a collector of all things "manly": guns, ammunition, antiques, knives, and currency. Dusty reveled in the art of negotiation. One of Gary's proudest achievements was becoming an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

Gary is survived by his cherished wife, Denise Holewinski; his sons: Michael Rhoades and Tommy Rhoades; grandson, Brandon Michael Rhoades; great-granddaughters: Shiloh Rae Rhoades, AnnMarie Faith Rhoades; siblings: Ida Sue Zeman, John "Jack" (Colleen) Rhoades, Renee (Donald) Lembcke; Gary was previously married to Sherrie Tank (Rhoades); sister-in-law, Margie and husband, Merle O'Shea; Gary is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: James (Carol) Rhoades and Bobby Rhoades.

Gary's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Green Bay Oncology, Unity Hospice as well as the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for all of their kindness, care, and compassion.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Living Hope Church (1840 W Mason St, Green Bay, WI 54303). A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM. Gary will be laid to rest in the Village of Suamico Cemetery.
