Michael J. "Mike" Rasmussen

August 7, 1949 — March 20, 2024

Michael J. "Mike" Rasmussen, age 74, was born on August 7, 1949 in Green Bay and died peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, March 20, 2024.

Mike graduated from Southwest High School in 1968 in Green Bay, where he was a member of their football team. He served his country in the US Army in Vietnam from 1969-1971, with an honorable discharge. He returned to Ashwaubenon and started the Rasmussen Construction Company which he owned and operated for 35 years, specializing in concrete work.

Mike was a loving and devoted husband, marrying Debbie (DeBauche) Herrbold on August 6, 1996.

Mike was a very hard working and ambitious man who loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He is well known for his big laugh and sociable nature and loved the outdoors, chopping wood, building campfires and landscaping the yard. He enjoyed planning and building their retirement home in the quiet of the North Woods with his German Shepherd, Sasha. He will be remembered for his strength, warm personality and his love for connecting with others. He will always be missed and loved by his family and many, many friends. From all of us family members, "Good luck deer hunting, Mike!" We will love and miss you always.

Survivors include: his wife, Debbie; son, Greg (Shelly) Herrbold, Freedom; daughter, Amy (Matt Fordenwalt) Herrbold, Ohio; 5 grandchildren: Tyler, Jacob, Taylor Mae, Will and Jax; a brother, Terry (long time friend, Gloria Firgens) Rasmussen, Ashwaubenon; his sister, Debbie (Jerry) Mecikalski, De Pere; nephew, Derrick (Anika) Capelle and niece, Delana Capelle.

He was preceded in death by his father, James "Bud" Rasmussen, mother, Joyce (Kolbrak) Rasmussen, brother, Jim Rasmussen and aunt, June Mecklenberg.

Per Mike's request, a private ceremony will be held by his family.

Mike's family would like to thank the amazing doctors and staff at Bellin Health for their care and compassion.
