Michael Curtis

Michael Jay Curtis, age 70, of Shawano, passed away on March 12, 2026.

Born in Oconto, Michael grew up making cherished memories at Kelly Lake, where he loved the water, boating, and time with family.

Michael will be remembered for his contagious laugh, sense of humor, and the joy he brought to those around him. He loved long conversations, time with family, and making people laugh. One memory his family will always smile about was the pair of shoes he bought with individual spaces for each toe—which, after some loving teasing, he never wore again.

He is survived by his children, Jamie Derrico and Alex Curtis; his grandsons, Austin Owens, Mekhi Owens, and Taye Derrico; his sisters, Linda Anderson and Cynthia L. Hoppe; his brothers, Jeff Curtis and Gregory Curtis; his brother-in-law, Kim Anderson; and his sister-in-law, Jenny Curtis.

Michael was deeply loved and will be missed beyond words.

As Michael Curtis once said, “Nature cleans the soul.”
