Maureen G. Kersten

Maureen G. Kersten, 88, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully in her home, April 28, 2025. She was born on June 13, 1936 to William and Gertrude (Koslowski) Ryan in Neenah, WI. Maureen was a graduate of Menasha High School and earned her Bachelor's degree from UW-Oshkosh.

Maureen worked as a Executive Secretary for The Village of Grand Chute and the City of Menasha. On May 25, 1962, she married Robert F. Kersten. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Robert passed away in December of 2012. Maureen and Robert lived and raised their family in Menasha, WI until they retired and moved to Surprise, AZ.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menasha where she and Robert were very active in many church and school activities. Maureen loved to sew baby bibs that she would happily give to family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending summers with her family at their cabin, fishing with her purple worm, in northern WI.

Maureen is survived by her 4 children: Ted (Wendy) Kersten, MaryBeth (Dean) Kersten-Williams, Tom (Donna) Kersten, and Sue (Tim) Vanden Langenberg; 9 grandchildren: Zach, Meghan, Baylei, Paytyn, Trent, Maggie, Adam, Cody, and Devin; 5 great-grandchildren: Sophia, Maddie Joe, Jack Allen, Kyson, and Bryar and a brother, William P. (Dorothy) Ryan, Jr. She is further survived by a brother-in-law, Jim Kersten; 3 sisters-in-law: Christine Ryan, Betty Appleton, and Lynn Canterbury; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and brother Jack Ryan.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.
