Mark David Van Straten

Mark Van Straten passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 1st in Algoma WI.

Mark grew up in Green bay where he graduated from east high school in 1983. While in school he met Michelle Widerborg. After high school Mark joined the US army and served as an MP in Germany, Honduras and at Fort Bliss in El Paso Texas. While serving in the army Mark married his high school sweet heart Michelle while home on leave before leaving for Germany. After getting out of the army Mark worked in many fields that included welding, truck driving and Printing. Mark eventually found a home at Belmark Inc. in De Pere, WI.

In his free time Mark enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and brothers at the family cabin in High Falls WI. In his later years he enjoyed wood carving and fishing at his home in Algoma. Mark had a great appreciation for the Veterans hospital and their services. He greatly appreciated all the efforts the Veterans office of Kewaunee County.

He is survived by his wife Michelle, Son Jake (Ashley) Van Straten, and daughter Allison (Eric) Rohr. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren Carley and Claire (Jake and Ashley) and Zander and Marlee (Allison). His brothers Scott (Stacey) Van Straten, and Tim (Jan) Van Straten), along with many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother and father Dorothy and Clarence Van Straten, and his brother Gary Van Straten.
