Mark "Mick" R. La Plant, 74, of Bellevue, passed away on June 1, 2026 at his home. He was born on May 14, 1952 to Joseph and Rose Mary (Schneider) La Plant. Mick cherished his childhood memories of growing up on his family farm. He was the second youngest of 5 children. Mick graduated from Preble High School with the Class of 1970.

Mick was blessed with two wonderful children, whom he loved dearly. As well as grandchildren whom he cared for deeply, and adored every moment of time spent with them.

On March 13, 2000, he married the love of his life and soulmate, Kathleen Lorenz, it was Mick's dance moves and charisma that won Kathy's heart. Especially the air guitar.

Mick was known for his optimistic, loving, and comedic personality and his willingness to lend a helping hand. Mick took great pride in his home and enjoyed landscaping; he spent his time reading, walking on the treadmill, and listening to the Beatles. He could never turn down a good bowl of ice cream, especially his favorite flavor of English Toffee and Caramel. He was a fan of his favorite sports teams, the Brewers and the Packers. When he wasn't watching the game, he liked watching Patty Mayo, Longmire, and Yellowstone on TV. Mick had a soft spot for animals and treasured his dog and cuddle buddy, Carmelita.

He was employed at Green Bay Packaging for many years, as well as Loomis Fargo, and NicePak. He retired in 2014.

Mick is survived by his wife, Kathy La Plant; his two children; Scott (Jennifer) La Plant and Tim La Plant; his granddaughter, Trinity La Plant; his step-granchildren; Natasha Gmeiner-Dean, and Mathew Dean; his great-granddaughter; Zoey Jung, his siblings; Jim (Gail) La Plant, Dan (Julie) La Plant, Larry (Bonnie) La Plant, and Mary Jo (Ed) La Plant-Hawley, and his life long friend; Steve Deprey. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mark is preceded in death by his step-children: Mark and Tom Dean; his grandson; Nathaniel "Nat" La Plant, and his nephews; Jeff La Plant and Steven La Plant.

Mark, you will be sadly missed but never forgotten. All our love from your family and friends.
