Marilyn Louise Gentry (Dombrowski), age 71, a lifelong resident of Green Bay, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born January 18, 1954 at St. Vincent Hospital to Betty Jane Dombrowski (McClure) and Charles Albert Dombrowski, Marilyn grew up in Suamico, Wisconsin and graduated from Bay Port High in 1972.
Shortly after, she met the love of her life, Garry Gentry and they celebrated their 52nd anniversary last October. They had two daughters, Heather Gentry and Stephanie Simon (Gentry), who live in Green Bay. Marilyn was close to her immediate family and large extended family who she worked alongside at Johnson’s Fish, Village Lanes, and O So Good Kettle Corn until she retired.
Marilyn was very active in the bowling community and over the span of 50 years, earned countless accolades. She was dedicated to her teammates and the league, carrying on the tradition enjoyed by several family members, including her brother Steve Dombrowski, who she was very close to.
Marilyn was a talented sewer and crafter, a hobby her and her sister Janice Smits (Dombrowski) shared, creating a strong bond between them. Most of her creations such as dresses, blankets, quilts, and stuffed animals were made for her children and grandchildren and will always be cherished. Marilyn’s love of gardening was apparent with her incredible flower displays and vegetable garden she’d use for seasonal canning. The vegetable garden eventually gave way to a butterfly garden, where she and her husband would collect monarch eggs, raise the caterpillars, and release butterflies to help in conservation efforts.
A life-long Packer fan, Marilyn never missed an opportunity to support her favorite team by sporting Packer gear, attending games, and watching with family and friends.
All these joys she shared with everyone around her, especially her 4 grandchildren, Kairi, Norah, Ian, and Grant, who she was proud of and doted on. May Marilyn’s love of life be an inspiration to us all. She will be dearly missed.
