Lois Jean VanderPerren, age 90, of Green Bay, passed away on November 1, 2026.
She was born on February 28, 1936 to Hubert and Nancy (Brunette) Cleereman in Green Bay, WI. Lois was one of 6 children. She and her family spent many weekends together at their cabin in Crivitz on Thunder Mountain Road, that they affectionately named "Dave's Ranch" after her brother, David who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1969. They spent much of their time together playing Schafkopf (Sheepshead), relaxing by a bonfire, and teasing their siblings. Those years quickly became treasured family memories.
Lois went to the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay for Grade School, before going on to graduate from Green Bay West High School with the class of 1954. Lois soon met Joseph "Paul" Heney, and the couple quickly found themselves inseparable. And on September 18, 1957, they were united in a marriage that lasted for more than 22 years. The couple was blessed with a son, Steven Heney. Lois would later meet Robert VanderPerren, in the 1990's, before ultimately getting marriage in 1996. Lois and Bob built a life on friendship, love, and their mutual love for "AYCE" Shrimp at Red Lobster, before his passing in 2006.
Lois spent many years of her life as a homemaker, striving to create the best life she could for her son. After he grew up, she found her calling as a makeup artist. She created a 15+ year career that she truly loved and thrived in at H.C. Prange's. When she wasn't at work, she found a passion in bowling. In fact she event competed for the Championship at the Northside Bowling Alley, and as Lois joked to the local paper at the time, "I'll have to take this score sheet home - they'll never believe it!". As Lois and her family would joke, she kept her credit cards warm! She had a love for shopping, especially for new makeup products, and for her weekly hair appointments. But to Lois there was no greater love than her family, and they continued their trips to the cabin in Crivitz throughout much of her life.
Lois is survived by her loving son, Steve Heney, her granddaughter, Chelsea Kocken, and her great grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings; Joanne Kolb, and James (Kim) Cleereman, and many cousins, friends, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and even a great-great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob VanderPerren, her former husband, Paul Heney, her siblings; Jerry (Gloria) Cleereman, Carl (Claire) Cleereman, and David Cleereman, and her parents Hubert and Nancy Cleereman.
A Visitation will be held for Lois on November 11, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay WI), with Memorial Service to follow at 4:00 PM. Lois will later be buried next to Bob at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
