Lloyd H. Anderson

Lloyd H. Anderson, age 91 passed away at Bellin Hospital on November 9, 2022. Lloyd was preceded in death by both of his parents Olaves and Maria (Peterson) Anderson. Lloyd was a graduated of Sturgeon Bay High School.

As a young man his interest in aviation started with his first plane ride at age 7 in 1937 and thus began the passion for flying that took him through the rest of his life. He obtained his flight license in 1948, and entered the Air Force in 1948. He served during the Korean War through 1952 as a Jet Mechanic. He married Darlyne Belle Grovogel and had four children. She preceded him in death.

He bought his first airplane as a project while obtaining his A&P certificate as a mechanic for Trecker Aircraft. He learned to assemble the Piaggio Royal Gulls where he earned his multi-engine seaplane rating.

Lloyd started as an air traffic controller, first in Milwaukee and then in Green Bay. He worked for 33 years and retired in 1990 due to health concerns. Lloyd was an avid EAA member, volunteering his services to the EAA Seaplane Base for many years!

In 1981, he married Gloria Nelson and together they operated the Mouse House Cheese and specialty food shop. They had one child, Christopher and also raised her niece, Angela. Many years were spent traveling, going to soccer and football games, camping, and seeing the country.

Lloyd was always ready to talk airplanes and tell stories. He shared his knowledge of everything he knew to always help friends. Lloyd is blessed with friends and family that loves him.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Gloria, children: Mary (Mark) Worachek of Forestville, Christopher (Jennifer) Anderson of Green Bay, Angie Nelson of Algoma, James Anderson of Algoma, Paul (Elaine) Anderson of Eau Claire; daughter-in-law, Lois Anderson; nine grandchildren: Eric (Heidi) Anderson, Amanda (Michael) Clark, Brady Anderson, Owen Anderson, Ashley (Josh) Seiler, Lyndsey Anderson, Cory Anderson, Teri (Mark) Levezow, and Javen Charles; great-grandchildren: Mason, Emelia, Jacob, Izaac, Chase, Lettie, Franklin, Oliver, Eleanor, and baby Anderson on the way. He is further survived by one sister-in-law, Debbie (Richard) Specht, and numerous, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his son, Steven Anderson, sister, Daisy Ann Lewis, and brother, Charles Anderson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Jet Air, 1921 Airport Drive, Green Bay, on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm with a Prayer service at 2:00 pm followed by a time to share memories with friends and family. Military Honors will conclude the service.

Thank you to friends and family for always being there for Lloyd and Gloria! A special thank you to Unity Hospice, and the nurses and doctors at Bellin Hospital for all their care, comfort, and support that was given to Lloyd and the family.
