Linda Joy Charniak, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Meng Hospice Residence.
Born on May 10, 1951, to Marie and Henry Charniak, Linda lived a life centered on care, community, and quiet strength. She was a devoted mother to her three children-Nathan Wogsland (Jessie), Kyle Wogsland (Rachel), and Libby Wetzel (Patrick)-and a proud and loving grandmother to Emma, Brooke, Amelia, Grant, Greta, Mason, and Owen.
Linda graduated from West High School. She worked for many years at ASPIRO, where she retired in 2018. Her work touched many lives, and she built lasting friendships with the people she worked alongside and supported. Following her retirement, Linda cherished the opportunity to babysit her granddaughter Amelia, forming a special and lasting bond during those early years. They enjoyed the beauty and wonder of the Green Bay Botanical Gardens often together.
She found joy in her garden, where she spent countless hours with her hands in the soil and the sun on her face. A passionate reader, she looked forward to her book club gatherings and the conversations they sparked. She was also a talented baker, known for sharing treats and traditions with family and friends. And to Linda, there was rarely a problem that couldn’t be made a little better with a bowl of ice cream and homemade hot fudge.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Unity Hospice for their compassionate care, and to her dear friends Kathy and Dawn, whose support and presence meant so much during this time.
Linda is survived by her children and grandchildren, siblings Dennis (Lynn), Eileen, Jerry (Betty), many nieces and nephews, and by many dear friends who will miss her warmth, her sense of humor, and the quiet love she gave so freely. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in law Gary.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s memory may be made to The Green Bay Botanical Gardens where flowers can forever bloom in her honor, the library of your choice or Unity Hospice.
“I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my Mommy you'll be."
