Lawrence J. Rankin

Lawrence J. "Larry" Rankin, age 75, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully at home in his favorite recliner, Sunday, April 23, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Algoma, WI, January 3, 1948, son of the late Lawrence and Anabelle (Stauber) Rankin and was a graduate of Southern Door High School, Class of 1966.

Larry married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Bonnie Viste, July 23, 1966. They shared 56 loving years of marriage and were blessed with a daughter, Brenda. Larry retired from Therma-Tron-X in Sturgeon Bay after over 20 years of dedicated service.

Larry spent many hours tending to his pristine yard. He was an amazing cook and grill master. He also enjoyed bread making and tinkering on anything he could find to work on. After his work was complete, you could find him enjoying his "Jack".

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Brenda (Mike) Willems; grandchildren, Cole and Peyton (special friend, Ally Pemberton) Sweet and a brother, Rick (Kathy) Rankin. He is further survived by 8 nieces and nephews; in-laws: Don (Cindy) Viste, Darrell Viste and Dennis (Linda) Viste and a former son-in-law, Richard Sweet.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a sister, Susan (Kenneth) Malcore, mother-in-law, Mildred Monfils and a sister-in-law, Joy Viste.

In accordance with Larry's wishes, no services will be held. Enjoy a "Jack" and keep his memory in your heart.
