Lawrence "Larry" E. Van Horn, eldest of nine children, was born in Shiocton, passed away peacefully at home May 9, 2026 in Irvine, CA.
Larry was well known for his kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit. He truly enjoyed life's simple joys, especially his many visits to Disneyland, where countless memories were made with siblings, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Larry also had a deep love for exotic plants, which was beautifully reflected in the yard surrounding his home. Anyone who showed interest in his plants was warmly welcomed on a personal tour, and Larry was always happy to share clippings with friends and family, a small reflection of his giving heart.
Larry had quite a sweet tooth, and everyone who knew him knew there was always a bowl of M&M's nearby, ready to share with anyone who stopped in.
Larry began his career with Cutler-Hammer as an electrical engineer, where his talent and innovation led to the creation of seven patents. He later continued his successful career in semiconductor sales as a senior engineer, reluctantly retiring at the age of 75.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Judith Fuller Van Horn; siblings: Donald, Clarence, Diane (Ray) Gomm, Allan, Leslie (Lisa), Linda (Rich) Minnihan, and Daniel (Tina) Van Horn; sons: Timothy (Carol) and Brian (Peggy) Van Horn; granddaughters: Julia and Lily. Loved by Karen Van Horn, Jeanette Greco, Jaclyn Luft, and John Fuller, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his warmth, wisdom, and generosity. Preceded in death by his parents: Chester and Mildred Van Horn, brother, Ralph Van Horn, sisters-in-law: Lucinda Van Horn and Jean Fuller Gille, Tina Van Horn; and brother-in-law, James Fuller.
