Lawrence L. Moss III, 48, of Pound, WI, died Saturday, August 9, 2025, in his home with his family after a long and heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. Larry was born August 10, 1976, in Cumberland, WI, son of Richard and Ruth Ann Moss. He attended Cumberland High School and later earned his GED from NWTC.
Larry married Stephanie Moss (Detienne) on April 22, 2005, and they shared 13 fun and loving years of marriage. They raised one daughter together, Savannah Hawkins, who is a perfect blend of the two of them.
Larry will be remembered fondly for his generosity and love for his family and friends. He always put others before himself, especially his daughter. He had a humor like no other, and always found a way to make others laugh even through the most difficult times. He loved doing woodworking and working on vehicles but once he was no longer able to do those, he leaned towards his other passion that he was more able to do, video games. While going through chemo his daughter introduced him to a video game, 7 Days to Die. He instantly fell in love with the game and was able to spend time having fun with his daughter and in a sense be able to forget that he was sick for a little while. He also dived into Diablo IV which he played with his childhood best friend Jay. He did all of this with his four-legged best friend Lily right by his side. Lily stayed by his side and helped him through his hardest days battling cancer and was an essential key in giving him motivation to fight back against cancer, as well as his daughter. He loved music, especially rock and metal. He would never miss an opportunity to blast some Metallica or Type O Negative. His greatest accomplishments in life were being a husband and father. He will forever be remembered for his quick wit, hardworking mentality, and to his daughter as the greatest father and man she’ll ever know.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Savannah; his granddog, Lily; his father, Richard Moss; his grandmother, Rosie Moss; his sister, Janelle Ellis; his brother-in-law, Jonathan Ellis; his niece, Kallias Moss; his nephew, Damian Roske; his best friend Jay Strasser, and many more family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie Moss; his brother-in-law and close friend Jeremiah Roske and his mother, Ruth Ann Moss.
