Green Bay

Katherine Mary "Toots" Meneratti, 95 years old, passed away on August 6, 2025, after a long struggle with dementia. She was born in Detroit, MI on September 26, 1929 to August and Rose (Leidel) Schwartz. Her family moved to Green Bay when she was twelve years old. She attended Washington Junior High and graduated from East High School in 1943. She worked at Wisconsin Telephone Co. for two years, then married and had two daughters. After her girls started school, she worked at a local dental office and then was employed at Procter & Gamble until she retired in 1990.

Katherine loved family time and spent many days at the cottage on the west shore of Green Bay playing badminton, croquet and swimming. She got most of her family hooked on jigsaw puzzles and playing card games. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed many trips, including European countries, as well as many, many bus trips throughout the United States.

Over the years, she volunteered with Girl Scouts, the Red Cross, St. Vincent de Paul store and St. Philip Altar Society. As a Lay Eucharist Minister, she had the privilege of distributing First Communion to both of her grandsons.

Katherine is survived by her two daughters, Carol (Charles) Larscheid and Roseann (James) VanEgeren. She is also survived by two grandsons, Jason (Heidi) VanEgeren and Jeremy (Dianna) VanEgeren; step-grandson, Robert Larscheid; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Lindsay, Jackson, Logan and Camden VanEgeren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three older brothers: Leo, Bernard and Louis and an infant sister, Katherine.

Her family will gather for a Catholic Mass to be said at a later date.

The family would like to extend a warm thank you to Mary Johanik, her Godchild, who sent many cheerful cards and notes to Katherine over the years. Also a special thanks to Caretta Memory Care and Moments Hospice for the excellent care and compassion they provided for Katherine.
