Karen Lee Trekas, age 85, of Green Bay, formerly of Gladstone, MI, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 28, 2025. She was born June 8, 1940 in Michigan, daughter of the late Isadore "Izzy" and Ida (Maki) Creten and was a graduate of Gladstone High School, Class of 1958.
After graduation, Karen continued her education in Chicago, where she earned credentials as an LPN. She relocated to Las Vegas where she completed her training and began her career. Karen was united in marriage to Ron Trekas after he was discharged from his service in the US Navy. The family made their home in Gladstone, MI and was blessed with 3 children.
In her younger years, Karen enjoyed golfing and trips to the casino. She was a gifted cook and loved sharing her delicious recipes with family and friends.
Karen is survived by her 3 children: Allyson (Paul) Dahlgren, Lee Ann (Steve) Szymanski and Ron Trekas; 4 grandchildren: Nicholas (Kayla) Starnes, Alyssa Richer, Samantha King and Brad Dahlgren; 5 great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Ella and Emilee Starnes, Amelia VanDynHoven and Henry Bartelme and a brother, Hal (Ann) Creten. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jacob King and siblings, Louis Creten and Monie Johnson.
A visitation will be held at Newcomer Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Friday, January 16, 2026 from 2 to 4 PM. A memorial service will follow at 4 PM.
