Karen S. Redelin, age 75, of Sister Bay, WI, passed away Friday, September 4, 2026, with family at her side. She was born November 7, 1950 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Charles and Harriet (Hammersmith) Redelin and was a proud graduate of Washington High School, Chicago, IL.
Her artistic journey led her to the Art Institute of Chicago on a full scholarship, where she honed her incredible talent in watercolor painting. In the late 1970s, Karen moved to Door County, embracing a life enriched by art, music, and family.
A creative soul, Karen not only painted but played multiple musical instruments. Her life was filled with vibrant adventures, especially her cherished travels to Italy. Yet, her heart found its greatest joy in cooking and baking, sharing treasured recipes with loved ones. Hosting frequent gatherings, Karen brought people together, creating unforgettable memories through her warm hospitality.
Karen is survived by her children: Lori (Kelly Malchow) Popovich, Sarah (Starr) Strysick and Adrian Serafico; 2 grandchildren, Sebastian Popovich and Ezra Serafico; great-granddaughter, Alaya Popovich and 2 sisters, Christine Yaksic and Diane (Glenn Mandal) Redelin. She is further survived by her partner of many years, Paul Landstrom, her best friend, Denise Maas, nieces, a nephew, many other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was her daughter, Alaya Serafico.
A celebration of Karen's remarkable life will take place at a later date, honoring the legacy of love and creativity she shared with all who knew her.
