John Victor Francois

John Victor Francois of Clam Lake, WI, Port Charlotte, FL, and Menomonee Falls, WI, passed away on February 20, 2026, at the age of 82, in Menomonee Falls. Born in 1943 in Green Bay, WI to Harold Francois and Rosemarie (née Carney) Francois, John graduated from East High School in 1961 and attended St. Mary’s Law School in San Antonio. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh and a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. John was a brother in the Epsilon Beta chapter of Delta Sigma Phi and served his country in the United States Army.

John married Elizabeth (née Gjesdahl) in 1970 at St. John the Evangelist in Green Bay, WI and was a loving husband and father. He is survived by Elizabeth, his son Matthew, nephews Michael and Steven Moller, and sister and brothers-in-law Margaret, John, David, and Andy Gjesdahl. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Erick and Dorothy Gjesdahl, and his sisters Kathleen Fay and Mary (Keith) Moller.

John was a teacher for 32 years in the De Pere school district. He had a passion for travel and organized educational trips for students from both the De Pere and Luxemburg-Casco school districts. Over the course of his life, he traveled from China and Australia to England and Portugal to many parts in between, including Scandinavia and Soviet Czechoslovakia! He loved to ski, golf, sail, camp, hunt, fish, and play tennis, but his greatest passion was playing his guitar and singing.

As season ticket holder, John was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, as well as the Badgers, Brewers, Boilermakers, and Golden Eagles.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist (427 St John St, Green Bay, WI 54301) from 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of life will follow.
