Jim Pecha

James (Jim) Joseph Pecha was born into eternal life September 27, 2026 at his home in Crivitz, WI. He was 89 years old. He was a cherished husband, father, papa, great grandfather and good friend to many.

Jim was born to Albert Pecha and Elizabeth (Pelon) in Milwaukee, WI on September 3rd, 1937. He was the baby brother to Warren (Bud) and Lorraine. He was raised Catholic, attended Catholic School until he made his first communion, and would later joke that as a child he attended mass enough for a lifetime. He then went to public school, later going to West Division. As a young adult Jim worked in factories in the Milwaukee area and raised three boys with their mother Marlene; Tom (The late Patti) Randy (Chrissy) and Steve (Tracie). Eventually Jim traded factory work for the more flexible schedule of a self-employed painter. This surely allowed for more time to golf and bowl, two past times Jim loved. Many friendships of Jim’s were shaped on an alley or a green. Jim met his wife, Sharon, bowling in Menomonee Falls when they both needed a double for a tournament. He later painted her home in Sussex. They married on December 6th, 1991, and decided to make Crivitz their home when they moved up to their cabin in 1994. Jim continued to paint homes in Crivitz as well as work as a ground’s keeper at DeSmidts. Jim loved to putter and was never one to sit still. He would help friends with projects, work in the garage or on the land, make toy guns for the grandkids, and volunteer at both the Twin Bridge Fire Department and the ATV club. Jim worked with his friend, Lloyd, on many of the trails, cutting the trees and keeping trails in good condition for the community. Jim enjoyed the up-north traditions of sign ins, Packer pools, pool and golf leagues, a Friday fish fry, hunting and all the great outdoors has to offer in the North woods. He loved nature and respected it.

In addition to Jim’s three sons, Jim had many other cherished family members including two step daughters, Kim (Russell) and Kori (Tom). Altogether Jim was a Papa to 17 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. He loved drawing pictures with them, shooting toy guns or BB guns as they got older, checking on the deer feeder and taking rides on the four-wheeler. Not to mention all the quarters they got from him for games while waiting for food on a fish fry night!

Jim will be missed by countless family and friends. The family thanks Unity Hospice and their supportive staff for the consistent quality care for Jim and our family these last few months. We find peace that his suffering in this world is done and he will be forever golfing in Heaven, sure to make that hole in one and celebrate after with a Jim Beam bourbon sweet.
