Jerry Jarvey

June 7, 1937 — May 8, 2025

Green Bay

Jerry Jarvey, 87, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday May 8, 2025, at the Jack and Engrid Meng Unity Hospice Residence. Jerry was born in Green Bay on June 7, 1937 to John and Beatrice (Olson) Jarvey; he was the oldest of four children. The family resided on Western Avenue until moving to Hobart, only four doors down the road from his future bride, Barbara Burkel.

On June 7, 1958, Jerry and Barb were married on his 21st birthday. They built their home on the Burkel farm where they raised their family and continued to reside in their “Heaven on Earth.”

The majority of Jerry’s work career was with Wisconsin Public Service, where he held multiple positions for over 30 years.

Jerry was a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph-Oneida, where he enjoyed being the sauce maker for their spaghetti dinners. He loved playing cards, camping, kayaking, cutting wood and mowing his many acres. He sold firewood for many years, probably more to interact with family and friends than to make a profit. Although, let it be said, he never missed an opportunity to take advantage of a deal.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife Barb of 66 years; his three children: Debbie (Matt) Anderson, Todd (Rita) Jarvey, and Brian (Lori) Jarvey; six grandchildren: Katie (Alex) Jones, Becca Anderson, Brad (Kelly) Aaberg, Angie (Aaron) Shockley, Nate Jarvey, and Ben Jarvey; three great-grandchildren: Amelia, Nick, and Mia; his sister Celeste Lom; and his sister-in-law Paulette Jarvey. Jerry is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his beloved 1985 Dodge Ram pickup truck…that may or may not be street legal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Beatrice Jarvey; his sister Chloe Havens; his brother Mike Jarvey; his brother-in-law Bob Lom, and his parents-in-law Vincent and Doris Burkel.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am on Friday, May 23, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (2597 Glendale Ave, Green Bay, WI 54313). Mass will take place immediately following at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Unity Hospice – Jack and Engrid Meng Hospice Residence.

The family is so very grateful for their exceptional care and compassion for Jerry and his entire family.
