Harold Thomas Anderson, age 88, passed away at a local hospital Wednesday, February 26, 2025 after a brief illness. Harold "Finn" "Spike" was born in Tamarack, MI to Peter Eino and Wilma (Dagmer) Anderson on October 13, 1936. He attended school in Dollar Bay, MI.
He worked a variety of jobs until he saw an opening for the US Army Corps of Engineers in Kewaunee, WI. He applied and 4 years later, at the age of 26, he was hired. He started as an oiler and progressed until retiring, after 30 plus years, as Chief Engineer on several Tugboats - The Kenosha, The Racine, The Two Rivers, and The Ludington.
He was previously married and had 4 children: Bruce, Beverly, Brian and Bonnie. When he met Lois Vercauteren "The Love of his Life", she had 3 sons: Mike, Andy, and Randy Vercauteren. They married December 17, 1969 and became a large "blended" family. He and his wife Lois enjoyed traveling, going to casinos and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brian Anderson; 3 brothers: Elmer, Roger, Richard; and 2 sisters: Beatrice and Leona.
Survivors include his wife, Lois, of 55 years; 4 sons: Bruce Anderson, Mike Vercauteren, Andy (Jenn) Vercauteren, Randy (Susan) Vercauteren; 2 daughters: Beverly (Fred) Luoma and Bonnie (Vincente) Paloblanco; 1 brother Art (Lois) Anderson and 1 sister, Florence (John) Lewis; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at A Gathering For You (822 Cormier Road, Green Bay, WI) from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. Memories at 11:30 am.
