Gregory James Koeser

Gregory James Koeser was born and raised in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, as the fourth of six children in his family. Growing up just a few blocks from Nashota Beach, he spent much of his childhood there, making memories along the shore of his hometown.

Greg was a man of few words who found joy in the simple things in life. He worked as a computer programmer throughout his career. He loved golfing and bowling, but his true passion was fishing. There was something special about being out on the water, fishing pole in hand, enjoying the peace and quiet of the moment. Fishing was more than just a hobby to him; it was something he truly loved and a part of who he was.

Greg and Mary's love story began when they were teenagers. Greg was determined to win Mary's heart, and his persistence eventually led to their marriage on April 23, 1966. After their marriage, they moved to Manitowoc, where they raised Troy and Heather. In 1975, the family moved to Green Bay area, where Matthew was born shortly afterward.

In his later years, Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia gradually took away his independence and his ability to do many of the things he had always loved. For a man who cherished his independence and found so much joy in fishing, these losses were especially difficult. Through it all, Greg never complained about his disease. He faced his challenges quietly, never letting his struggles define the man he was. Although his disease changed his life in a heartbreaking ways, it could never take away the memories he created or the love his family will always carry for him.

Greg leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Mary, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories. He will be deeply missed by his children: Troy Koeser (significant other, Natanya, Heather (Paul) Ebel and Matthew Koeser; his grandchildren: Jake (Taylor) Johnston, Jordan (Tiffany) Roskom, Jagger Koeser, Lily Koeser, RaeAnna (Nick) Schmidt, Alexa (Hayden) Estano, Kai Schmitt, Gregg Smith and Kaden Smith; great-grandchildren: Harrison, Hudson, Murphy and Maren.

He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Lynne (Steve) Neuser; his brother, Jim Koeser; his sister, Marge (Dan) Loberger; and many nieces and nephews.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and William Koeser; his brother, Leland Koeser; and his sister, Gloria Laundrie; and his many pets, all of whom he now joins in eternal rest.

The family would love to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the nurses on the fourth floor at Aurora Hospital for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Greg and his family. Your dedication and the comfort you brought during such a difficult time will never be forgotten. We are truly grateful for everything you did for Greg.
