Gloria Fonder

Gloria Fonder, age 90, a lifelong resident of Green Bay, passed away peacefully at her home, Monday, March 16, 2026. She was born November 6, 1935 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel (Steffens) Phillips and was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Class of 1953.

Gloria was united in marriage to Kenneth "Ken" Fonder, June 12, 1954. They were married for 62 blessed years before Ken passed away, June 28, 2016.

Gloria was a determined and independent lady who was always helping others, but insisted on doing everything herself. Arts and crafts were her passion. She was always working on something, whether her latest quilt, sewing project or handmade basket. She also enjoyed her jigsaw puzzles.

Gloria is survived by her 7 children: Greg (Jennifer) Fonder, Terri Fonder, Karen Broekman, Mary (Terry) VanDrese, Vicki (Brent) Duprey, Lori (Kevin) Fonder-Strong and Sandy (Jerry) Zambrowicz; 12 grandchildren; many, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings: Shirley Phillips, Judy Nowak, Gary (Lynn) Phillips, Linda (Eric) Rentmeester; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ken, granddaughter, Amanda Zambrowicz and 9 siblings.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Friday, March 27, 2026 from 4 to 7 PM. A memorial service will follow at 7 PM.
