Listen to Obituary

Gloria Jean Couillard, 80, of Green Bay, passed away on October 9, 2026. She was born on November 14, 1945, to Nicholas and Lillian Herwald.

Gloria had a heart of gold and always made sure her family and friends had everything they needed. She was a giving, kind, and loving person who was often the life of the party. Her contagious smile and infectious laugh could brighten any room, and she had a special way of making everyone around her feel loved.

Gloria was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, and through her faith, she formed many beautiful and lasting friendships. Above all else, her children and grandchildren meant the world to her.

Gloria found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending summer days helping her children with yardwork, sitting in the backyard, enjoying cookouts, and watching her grandchildren play. Some of her favorite memories were made surrounded by the people she loved most.

Anyone who knew Gloria knew how much she loved a good rummage sale. If you were riding in the car with her and happened to pass one, you could almost guarantee you would be stopping! She had a knack for finding something at every sale and never passed up an opportunity to visit a thrift store. It was one of the many little things that made Gloria who she was.

The family would also like to extend a special thank-you to Nikki Pollman, Gloria’s favorite niece, for always being there through the difficult days. Your love, kindness, and support meant more than words can express.

Gloria is survived by her children, Theresa, Timothy, Tara (John Soletski) Tana Couillard and their father, Clifford Couillard, her grandchildren, Tiana Couillard, Nicholas and Madalyn Couillard, and Hunter and Jaxon Soletski; her great-grandchildren, KayLynn, Javail, and Nayvah Richardson; her sister, Sandy Hyrkas; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Lillian Herwald; her sister, Janet Herwald; and her brother, Gerald Herwald.

A gathering to celebrate Gloria’s life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, beginning at 2:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3065 W. Mason Street, Green Bay, WI 54313.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Gloria’s memory by doing something kind for someone else, just as she would have done.

Mom, don’t worry. We will keep our doors locked and the lights on, and tell the boys not to drive so fast and be careful when they are out hunting. We love you so much, and you will forever be in our hearts.
