Gladys Caroline Powell

Gladys (Cayemberg) Powell passed away at the age of 79 on July 26, 2025, peacefully with family by her side. She was born February 14, 1946 to her parents, the late Frank and Alice (Hendricks) Cayemberg. She married Darold R. Powell on April 13, 1968, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Together, they raised two daughters, Amy Lynn and Brenda Marie. Gladys and Darold recently celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Gladys was the first class to graduate from Bay Port High School. She was on the committee to pick out the name of Bay Port High School and the colors. She graduated in June of 1964 with honors. She worked many, many years as a paralegal with two various law firms in Green Bay. She also worked until she retired from the Green Bay Diocese. She loved to do her puzzles, avid reader, loved her boos. She also loved to travel and spend time with her family and grandchildren.

Gladys is survived by her husband, Darold and two daughters, Amy Corbeille and Brenda Christensen (Fiance, Daniel Smith). Amy's son, Austin James and Brenda's children, Veda Marie and Lambeau "Beau" Carl. She is further survived by one sister-in-law, Yvonne Cornell and two brother-in-laws, David Powell and Earl Kazik. Gladys is also survived by two very life-long friends, Claire Matuszak and Donna (Garity) Meyer.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Marie DeWitt and Angeline Matuzak.

A Visitation for Gladys will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay, Wisconsin 54301. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 7:00 PM that same evening. Interment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park the following day.
