Gerald E. "Jerry" Deneys Sr., 83, of Lena, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on May 13, 1942 to Norris and Esther (Morrow) Deneys in Green Bay. Jerry graduated from Pulaski High School in 1960. He was drafted into the Army in 1966. He served his country during the Vietnam War while being based in Korea. Once he returned home, Jerry visited a local establishment and found the love of his life, Irene James, working with her father at his tavern. They were smitten with each other, and married on November 16, 1968. Their marriage was blessed with three children.
Jerry has always been involved in dairy farming. Jerry and Irene had their own farm for awhile and then he worked as a Truck Driver for Bryan Bayer Trucking, and later for Waste Management. In the fall, Jerry enjoyed bow hunting and in winter, snowmobiling. He always had a fresh beautiful garden, and a canine companion.
Jerry is survived by his loving Wife, Irene of 57 years; three children: Connie Hansen, Gerry (Patti) Deneys Jr., and Rebecca (David) Rose; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, 4 siblings: Gary (Tina) Deneys, Wendy (Merlin) Liebergen, Rick (Cheryl) Deneys, and Jeff Deneys; he is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Craig Hansen, sister-in-law, Lynette Deneys, and infant brother, Darle Deneys.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Ave. Green Bay; with the Memorial Service following at 11:00 am. Graveside Service will take place at 12:30 pm in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Oconto Falls.
Memorials are suggested to the Arbor Day Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Bristol Hospice and Father Ben; for all their care, comfort, and support that was given to Jerry and the family.
