Gary G. Vincent, cherished resident of Hobart, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 15, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital, with his wife at his side. Born on July 11, 1947, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, he was the beloved son of the late Gilbert Vincent and Evelyn (Vincent) VanDenEng. A proud alumnus of West De Pere High School, Class of 1965, Gary carried the values and spirit of his hometown throughout his remarkable life.
For 35 dedicated years, Gary applied his skill and precision as a machinist with Fort Howard Paper Company, retiring in 2000. On October 5, 1968, he united in marriage with Noranna Stingle, and together they shared an enduring partnership of 57 treasured years.
Gary’s passion and talents extended far beyond his professional life. An accomplished athlete, he proudly earned 27 trophies for trap shooting at area sportsman clubs and celebrated four championship titles with both the Fort Howard club baseball team and the Fort Howard golf league. He was also an avid bowler, securing 15 trophies in Fort Howard and Devroy’s bowling leagues. Above all, his greatest joy was found in breeding, raising, and exhibiting a variety of pigeon species—including Magpie Komorner Tumblers, and French Mondains—an avocation he began at the tender age of 14 and through which he garnered an impressive 52 national championship trophies.
In addition to his many accomplishments, Gary’s green thumb was well known in the community. His exquisite garden was honored as one of six featured yards in the 1999 Green Bay Botanical Garden Walk. That same year, he was awarded the Gardeners Club of Green Bay’s prestigious Silver Trowel, recognizing his exceptional residential landscape design.
Gary G. Vincent’s life was a testament to dedication, passion, and the love he bore for family and community. His memory will remain a beacon of inspiration to all who knew him.
Gary is survived by his wife, Noranna and his siblings: Bonnie (Tim) O'Malley, of Georgia, Nancy (Thomas) VanDeHei, of Seymour, WI, Anita (Tory) Christensen, of Green Bay, WI, Lorie Vincent, of Georgia and Mark (Sheila) Vincent of Green Bay, WI. He is further survived by his Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Lucas and Milo, 2 brothers-in-law, Butch Weise and Rick Greuel, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 siblings, Terry Weise and Carol Greuel and step-dad Arnold VanDenEng Sr.
Per Gary's wishes, no services will be held. Gary was a donor and through his generous gift of life, he will help 70 people in need.
Gary's family would like to thank the first responders that came to his aid in his time of need.
Below is a message from Gary, introducing himself and his hobbies.
I’m married and my wife’s name is Noranna. We live west of Green Bay in the Village of Hobart. I’m a man of many interests. I sometimes think that as I get older I should cut back, but I can never decide on what should be eliminated.
My hobby farm consists of miniature horses, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, a cockatoo, a miniature goat, Batom Cochin chickens, and pigeons. I also do a lot of landscape gardening on our 3 acres. I’m partial to collecting rare and unusual plants for our yard and carnivorous plants for my greenhouse. I almost forgot my Koi, colorful Japanese fish which I have 18. They have all been imported from Japan, some weigh 15 pounds and they become so tame that you can pet them like a dog. If I have any spare time, I enjoy trap shooting and golfing.
As far as pigeons, I can’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t fascinated with pigeons. My first loft was a recycled two hole outhouse when I was just 14. I would go to a local golf course and find balls and sell them to golfers. Take the money, peddle by bike to a local pigeon dealer and buy a pair of two of whatever variety he had at the time. Over the years, I settled on French Mondains and Magpie Komorner Tumblers as my favorites.
