Ellen Marie Meeuwsen, age 64, of Green Bay, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, surrounded by her cherished children. Born on February 21, 1961, in Green Bay, she was the beloved daughter of the late Eugene and Mabel (Rasmussen) Peterson.
Ellen dedicated many years to caring for others as a Nurse's Aide in various local facilities, exhibiting an unwavering passion for nurturing those around her. Her compassion extended beyond her profession, touching the lives of her family and friends with her warmth and kindness.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Ellen remember her unique sense of humor and her sharp wit, which brought smiles and laughter to every gathering. Her heart was especially full when surrounded by her family, as being a mother and proud grandmother brought her immense joy.
Ellen is survived by her loving children, Matthew Meeuwsen and Dennessa (Nicholas) Meeuwsen-Czech; her grandchildren, Amelia and Lincoln Czech; and her siblings: Steve Peterson, Richard Peterson, and Denise (Todd) Falk. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews: Dylan Falk, Anthony Peterson, and Rebecca Danforth, along with many relatives and friends whose lives she touched.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and a beloved brother, Mark Lee Peterson.
To celebrate Ellen’s remarkable life, a gathering will take place at Newcomer Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI) on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 10 AM to 12 NOON.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated caretakers from Lakeland and the staff of St. Vincent Hospital for their compassionate care during this difficult time. Ellen's spirit of love and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
