Eileen A. Marcure

May 27, 1954 — July 28, 2025

Green Bay

Eileen Marcure passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, after a brief illness. Born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1954, Eileen moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin, as a young child.

She graduated from St. Joseph Academy and attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Early in her career, Eileen moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the FBI. After several years, she returned to Wisconsin and began what would become a successful career at IBM. A natural leader, Eileen found great joy as a manager of people, mentoring them toward their professional goals. Her job with IBM eventually took her to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where she met and married the love of her life, Don Marcure, in 1993.

After taking early retirement from IBM, Eileen and Don returned to Green Bay and she began working for Paper Converting Machine Company. She left Paper Converting to be the primary caregiver for her mother-one of her most meaningful roles. Their time together was filled with joy and laughter-baking, crafting, and sharing stories. Later, Eileen returned to her career and worked for Cellcom as the Executive Assistant to the President.

Creative, eloquent, and thoughtful, Eileen had a brilliant mind and was an extraordinary writer. She could craft the perfect message for any occasion. She was a voracious reader-especially of Harlon Coben novels-and had an impeccable sense of style. Her home was a reflection of her eye for beauty and comfort.

Passionate about politics, Eileen was an engaged and tireless activist. Throughout her life, she volunteered for numerous campaigns and championed candidates who shared her values of equity, compassion, and service.

Eileen was the most amazing aunt to her niece and four nephews. She had a unique way of making each of them feel special, always choosing the most thoughtful gifts. Recently, she became a great-aunt to two nephews and adored seeing photos and hearing stories about them.

Eileen was the best dog mom to Sheldon and Ferguson who will miss her immensely.

Eileen was funny as hell! (She would appreciate that expletive.) She brought light and humor into the lives of those around her with her quick wit and perfect comedic timing.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Don, her four sisters, Margie Davis, Bridget Arens-Jone (Tom) Teresa Bruner (Tony), and Sarah Heck (Steve), and her brother Gerry Arens (Carlynn Wolf), her niece, four nephews, and two great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and George Arens, her grandparents, aunts, and uncles, and her beloved Westies Ernestine and Elliott.

She will be lovingly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and ability to make anyone she met feel like a life-long friend.

Per Eileen’s wishes, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, she requested that everyone make sure they are registered to vote and - when the time comes - use their voice at the ballot box.
