Edward "Pete" Lee Kaufman, age 62, of Silver Cliff, died on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at his home. Pete was born on February 15, 1964 in Bloomington, Illinois to Charles and Carol (McNeill) Kaufman.
He grew up in Wisconsin and Minnesota as the youngest son of 7 children. Pete loved life and had many fun experiences. He has lived in Minnesota, Missouri, and North Carolina before settling in Northern Wisconsin where he moved to with the love of his life, Renee Kintgen. They met on April 29, 1996 and they married on September 11, 1999. Pete adored Renee's children, Todd and Tara Jo and they became his own.
He loved tinkering with everything and could repair about anything he set his mind to. He would often say, "If there's a will, there's a way."
His passions were riding 4-wheelers, spending time with his children and grandchildren, family and friends. He loved living in Northern Wisconsin planting his apple trees with his wife and having bonfires. If anyone could build a fire, it was him! Always huge and to be seen all around.
Pete loved his dogs: Babies, Peanut, Carmello, and Rolo. He was always willing to help anyone, even if it was his last dollar. He enjoyed traveling with his wife until he was no longer able to. He was adored by all his family. He will be dearly missed by all.
Pete/Ed is survived by his wife, Renee; his daughter, Tara Jo (Tony) Waite; his grandchildren: Devin, Logan, Maci, Jasmine, Kolyn, and Kolton; his siblings: Keith (Julie) Kaufman of Freeport, FL, Laurie (Dan) Heldberg of Le Sueur, MN, Charles (Shelly Pruett) Kaufman of Hannibal, MO, Rendy Wilson of Cottage Grove, OR; his brother-in-laws: Robert (Christine) Kintgen Jr., Jeff (Sally) Kintgen, Roger Kintgen (Holly) and Dale (Arlet) Kintgen; sister-in-laws: Dawn Kingten, Rhonda (Lenny) Brouchoud, Doreen (Greg) Mueller and Judy Kintgen (John); Pete is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Pete/Ed is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Todd Kintgen; his brother, Casey Kaufman; his sister, Kathy Kaufman; and his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Anita Kintgen Sr.
Pete's family would like to express their gratitude to Unity Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
